I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt

of Your Lordship's Confidential despatch dated the

30 18th of June, 1930, on the subject of the smuggling of

opium on the Trans-Pacific route and in reply to inform

Your Lordship that the Superintendent of Imports and

Exports, Hong Kong, has already been in direct touch with

American officials on this subject and that all the details of effective co-operation (including a system of code telegrams) have been satisfactorily arranged.
